Day 1: Sculpture in Yorkshire
The Hepworth Wakefield and Yorkshire Sculpture Park
Celebrate the work of two of the greatest British sculptors, both born in Yorkshire: Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore.
Spend the morning studying Hepworth and making your own sculptures, followed by an afternoon experimenting with sculpture materials in the great outdoors at Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
10am – 11:30am: Artist-led workshop at The Hepworth Wakefield
11:30am – 12pm: Indoor picnic space at The Hepworth Wakefield
12pm – 12:30pm: Transport to Yorkshire Sculpture Park*
12:30pm – 2pm: Artist-led workshop at Yorkshire Sculpture Park

Day 2: What makes a ‘great’ sculptor?
Henry Moore Institute and Leeds Art Gallery
Delve into the question of what makes a ‘great’ sculptor, getting hands on experience of research in the world-leading sculpture
library* of the Henry Moore Institute. Then explore this question further in the galleries at Leeds Art Gallery. Finally, select one
sculpture to present and debate with fellow students and staff.
10am – 11:30am: Facilitated workshop at the Henry Moore Institute
11:30am – 12pm: Picnic space at Leeds Art Gallery
12pm – 2pm: Facilitated workshop at Leeds Art Gallery
*Please note: primary school groups will take part in an active exploration of the gallery instead of library research, to build their research skills.
These two days do not have to be consecutive and can be taken at any point in the academic year 2018/19.
£375 for the whole experience across two days.
